Max K.

Though a native New Yorker, Max has spent the last decade abroad in Italy, England, and Canada, where he has tutored and taught writing, math, SAT/ACT, ESL, IELTS, the US college admissions process, and assorted subjects through the university level. Perhaps most importantly though, this diversity of locations and cultures has nurtured Max’s adaptive approach to education and his passion for helping students from all walks of life achieve their goals.

Max holds an MA from Central Saint Martins in London and a BA from McGill University in Montréal, where he likewise published in academic journals on Dostoevsky and 20th Century German philosophy.

In addition to teaching, Max volunteers and works with community and digital rights organizations, fighting to ensure that our age’s technological paradigm shift creates access and opportunity for all and not just the few. He also writes copy, academic content, and works professionally as an actor.

Outside of the classroom (and Zoom room), Max loves to read, cook, play the guitar and drums, climb, paddle (ask him about his work as Class V whitewater raft guide!), cycle, watch Italian cinema, and try to walk on his hands (he’s almost there!).
