Ray Crosby

Director of Academics and Student Success

Ray Crosby lives in Orlando but originally hails from California, where he spent what seems like forever in college and grad school. While working on his Ph.D. in English at UC Riverside, he took a part-time job as a test prep tutor, little dreaming that he was embarking upon what would become his professional career. Since that day in 2008, he has taught and tutored thousands of SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, and LSAT students, and has worked in various capacities in the test prep industry: curriculum developer, teacher trainer, early live online teaching pioneer, essay grader, enrollment advisor, and customer sales and service manager. He's an educator at heart who cares deeply about access and equity when it comes to test prep, and there's nothing that he loves more than helping a struggling student work their way through one of the many "aha!" moments that occur throughout their prep journeys. He's also taught as a college English professor for years, specializing in 18th-19th Century British Literature (his favorite author is Charles Dickens), Pilgrimage Studies (he has twice hiked the 1000-mile Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route in Spain doing "research" and hope to do it someday with students as a study abroad program), and the Medical Humanities (he's currently working on a Masters in Public Health to better understand Narrative Medicine and its place in our evolving healthcare system). In his spare time, he's a classic movie buff, aspiring writer, bookworm, and dedicated dog-walker to his boxer, Ginger.
