A-List Culture: Carnegie Hall Concert Featuring A-List Students

kazakh childrens concertIn June, Carnegie Hall hosted “The International Children’s Day Concert” featuring A-List student, Damir Sarsekeyev. The Kazakh American Alliance, for which Damir’s mother Karla Sarsekeyeva works, helped to sponsor the event. The concert is an annual non-competitive performance event for school-aged music students. Music has been an integral part of Kazakhstan’s culture for centuries. Kazakhstan has taken pride that its music is unique, cannot be duplicated, and is focused around its national instruments. This year KOKIL, a young folk ensemble from Kazakhstan, performed traditional music, joined in this concert by students playing classical piano.

A-List President Scott Farber who had the privilege of attending the event, even made the Kazakh news sharing his thoughts on the concert!
