Fun Fact(s):

Why is it “The” Ohio State University? You’d have to take that up with Rutherford B. Hayes! Before he was elected president, Hayes served as governor of Ohio, and directed the Ohio General Assembly to transform what was then the Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College into a selective university — and in 1878, the Assembly passed a resolution renaming the school “The Ohio State University.”
