Subject Specialties: SAT/ACT, Spanish

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Veta Greenstone was voted “class brain” by her peers and went on to graduate as the valedictorian of her class. Together with the National Merit Scholarship and the prestigious Chancellor’s Scholarship, Veta attended Vanderbilt University (the Harvard of the South, according to Urban Dictionary!) where she studied Psychology and Spanish. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Forensic Linguistics from Hofstra University and hopes to one day become a criminal profiler like on Criminal Minds. Pro tip: If you don’t watch it, you should!

Veta first discovered her love for education at the ripe young age of 8 when she was helping her grandparents learn English to pass their citizenship tests. Since then, she has amassed a decade’s worth of teaching experience with a large variety of students. She was a math teacher to elementary-aged students at the Russian School of Mathematics and in college, shifted to teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) to Hispanic working adults in the Nashville community. Her most recent adventure was going to Israel for a year to teach English to 4-8th graders in an underprivileged school. When she’s not teaching, Veta enjoys reading, teaching herself to play guitar, exploring New York, and going on expeditions to find authentic Middle Eastern food.
